. . . During lockdown I was asked to make an engagement ring for a lockdown propsal, but as I was unable to make at home we spent some time discussing the ideal ring. We based it on a design I started making quite some time ago which was then tweaked to personalise it. This design still gets chosen every now and again and it is lovely to re-vist and make on commission, a real treat!
. . . I decided to make a paper model so I could give the client an idea of how it will look and check the size, and he used this model to propose with! Once I was back to the studio the couple visited to discuss the design in metal. The partner was still wearing the paper model, it was just about holding together!
. . . So I made an oxidised silver and gold ring, two strips wrapped and layered together, then secured with a gold rivet, it seems very fitting for an engagement ring and such an honour to make for such an important occassion.
. . . Thank you for reading!
